In survivor terminology, delving into the Aeon of Osiris was very “triggering” and really toxic as I went into the Christian stuff, but I managed to surf out the resulting insanity, and did a couple of good banishings to get my head back on right, and so here’s my summary of my presentation, as I think I had some interesting information.
Originally the sacrifice of the Aeon of Isis would be prepared food items, you still see the vestiges of this practice in Italy where prepared food offerings will be placed in front of a statue of the Virgin Mary on special feast days, and special kind of prepared food offerings are also made to Saints in Italy and Spain.
Then as you see the rise of the new Aeon of Osiris, all around the world, from Lake Titicaca to Sumer and the Indus Valley, we had the rise of agriculture and the need for more elaborate forms of human organization, so you have a new model for sacrifice, the sacrifice of the individual will to that of the organized group will.
This really started in more scientifically precise terms, about 2000BC, not on 1EV.So parts of the world really spent about 4000 years in the Aeon of Osiris, and some will take hundreds of years to get it out of their system, if they don’t nuke the rest of us first.
Aser was a god of death, and in the very early rituals an enemy would be taken and ripped into pieces and then eaten to commemorate the dismemberment of Osiris.Later the enemy captive was substituted with a red bull (no, not the drink aser- he gives you wings), which came to represent him.
So what was an offering back to the gods of a ritually prepared meal, which could be a deep personal sacrifice for the group, if food was scarce in a drought or other conditions, then changed, in that it was no longer a group sacrifice, and that sacrifice would be either of a person in bondage, or of an animal in bondage.
This also changed and became more sophisticated over time, where it developed into the worship of the Ba of Aser in Mendes, where a ram (sorry not a goat you Dennis Wheatley fans) was worshiped as the embodied Ba or soul of Aser.
Aser became a very popular diety throughout the Mediterranean. His name morphed into Osiris in Greece, and his cult deeply influenced those of Dionysius and Bacchus as well as the Orphic mystery schools.
By the time the Jesus mythology came into primacy the world was presented essentially a heavily watered down Redeemer. What had once been human flesh, and then the flesh of a Bull, now had become a little wafer.
Well, there was no overarching single authority for the worship of Aser, so while in the huge temple in Egypt he might be worshipped with the rending of a Bull, in a private home he could be worshipped with the group consumption of cakes that represented parts of his body.
Parts of the previous aeon always get carried into the new one. So you still had the concept of a group sacrifice of prepared food, but in this case prepared to look like human body parts, though it was just some dough and clay.
The Christians standardized the current of the Aeon, especially the Roman Church, which seemed to understand the overlapping of the Aeons, with the veneration of Mary and the Saints, making it easy to absorb for pagans of the time.
But Christianity couldn’t escape the influence of Persia, in fact its the contact between Persia and Rome that gave birth to the figure of Satan as Christians understand him. In Judaism he’s really seen more as God’s prosecuting attorney, out to test the people, but at the end of the day, YHVH is till the boss.
The Romans were influenced by Persian Dualism, in t
